Surah At-Tariq is a chapter in the Quran, and it gets its name from the Arabic word “at-tariq,” which means “the morning star” or “the night-comer.” The Surah is the 86th chapter and consists of 17 verses.

This Surah begins by emphasizing the significance of the night visitor, a reference to the bright star that appears in the sky. It then goes on to describe how each soul is accompanied by a recording angel that keeps track of its deeds—both good and bad.

Surah AL-Tariq reminds believers of the concept of accountability in the afterlife, where individuals will be shown their deeds and their consequences. The Surah encourages reflection on the creation of the universe and the purpose behind it, urging people to recognize the signs of God’s existence and power. In simple terms, it highlights the importance of understanding the purpose of life and the consequences of our actions while drawing attention to the Creator’s wisdom and control over all things.
